OWTU cracks Govt’s five per cent wage cap

Less than twenty-four hours before a strike by Petrotrin workers was set to begin, the representing union and the company reached a wage agreement for the workers, averting a 90 day strike. In so doing the OWTU managed to receive more than the 5 percent which being offered and walked away with a 9 percent increase and other benefits.
