AG: Child brides at a disadvantage

Friday, March 3, 2017 - 20:00

The attorney general is arguing that underage girls are being married off to men with potentially low-income jobs and are ill-equipped to provide them with a better life.

AG  Al-Rawi put forward the argument during debate on the child marriage bill today.

He also pointed to the age disparity, where he says girls as young as twelve are married to fifty-year-old men.
