The acting national security minister says there was a meeting last evening involving all national security heads, as this country's murder rate continues to increase.

With almost 20 murders in 5 days, the government was today asked in the upper house, what plans are there to combat the recent rise in homicides.

Minister Stuart young says the public can expect to see a more visible police presence from now until carnival.

He added that law enforcement is doing its job and says just last night their work yielded results.
