Ramesh opposes amendments to Freedom of Information Act

The man who pioneered the freedom of information act is firmly against proposed amendments which he believes is not in the public's interest.

Former attorney general Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj says if these amendments are made law they would obstruct, frustrate, discourage and hinder people from accessing information from the government. 

Should the amendments be passed, Maharaj is threatening to explore his legal options to have it repealed. Multimedia journalist Rishard Khan and cameraman Ivan Toolsie bring us this report.
