A 14-year-old boy was held with a gun and .9mm ammunition earlier today.
Reports state the boy, a Form Two student of the Curepe Secondary School was held by police around 2:50pm.
Officers of the Sangre Grande Task Force were on patrol along the Valencia by-pass road when they saw a young man walking.
The teen of Antigua Road, Wallerfield, on seeing the police vehicle began running.
Finding the reaction suspicious, the police pursued him.
He was caught a short distance away and a search of the 14-year-old led to the officers finding a pistol with 9 rounds of .9mm ammunition.
He is expected to appear before a Sangre Grande magistrate tomorrow.
