34-year-old warehouse attendant charged with girlfriend's murder

A warehouse attendant employed at Xtra Foods Supermarket, Grand Bazaar, will appear before an Arima Magistrate tomorrow, Friday 1st April, 2016, charged with the murder of his colleague to whom he was alleged to be involved in a romantic relationship, police say.

Homicide detectives today received instructions from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard, to charge Kendal Shalto, 34, with the murder of Christiana Francis, who was employed at Xtra Foods as a supermarket attendant.

The body of Ms. Francis, 24, was found in a house at No. 404 Penguin Crescent, Maloney, with multiple stabs and cut wounds on March 12th, 2016.

She lived at La Canoa Road, Santa Cruz.

Shalto was charged by PC Ricardo Sutherland of the Homicide Bureau of Investigation, Region 2.
