63-year-old man shot outside Queen's Hall

A 63-year-old business consultant from St Ann's has been shot and injured in a drive-by shooting near Queen's Hall.

Police say that shortly after five this morning, the man, whose full name has not yet been disclosed, was taking his dogs out of the car for a walk, when a white wagon pulled up.

Police say the occupants fired several shots at the man...hitting him in four places about the body.

He was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he is currently warded in a serious condition.

His wife, who was with him at the time, escaped injury.

Police say that while they have no motive as yet for the attempted murder but note that a few weeks ago, gunmen had gone to the man's St Anns home and fired several shots at his car.

Belmont police are continuing investigations.
