An 8-year-old girl is among two persons killed in an early morning fire in South Trinidad.
Shortly after 2 am, a fire broke out at a home located at Fifth Company Village, Moruga Road.
The fire is said to have quickly spread through the two-storey structure.
Members of the family that were home at the time attempted to escape.
It was only when they escaped checks revealed that 8-year-old Aaliyah Primus and 40-year-old Nisha Gopaul were missing.
Fire officials who responded managed to contain the blaze.
The charred remains of the girl and woman were found in the kitchen area of the burnt house.
The fire has also left ten people homeless.
