Two brothers are to appear before a Sangre Grande Magistrate charged with the murder of 17-year-old Isaiah Deshawn Hitlal, which occurred on Saturday 2nd February, 2019.
Victor Timothy, 33, and Leon Timothy, 24, both labourers of Damarie Hill, Sangre Grande, were charged with murder, possession of firearm and possession of ammunition, following advice received from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Joan Honore-Paul on Monday.
Leon Timothy also faces an additional charge of shooting with intent.
Hitlal, of Sangre Grande, was with two other victims at Jacob Coat Road, around 7:50 pm on Saturday 2nd February, 2019, when a white Toyota wagon, stopped alongside them and two men armed with guns exited.
The assailants fired several shots in the direction of the victims, resulting in the teen receiving multiple gunshot injuries about the body.
The assailants then escaped in the vehicle.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment where he later died.
The accused were arrested on Monday 1st April, 2019, at their home.
Investigations were supervised by ASP (Ag.) Sean Dhilpaul, of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region 2, while the Timothy brothers, were charged by PC Leroy Joseph, also of HBI, Region 2, on Tuesday 9th April, 2019.
