One bandit has been killed and two others injured during an attempted robbery at a grocery in Barataria.
According to police reports, around 9 pm on Thursday, three men entered Youngs Grocery located along Tenth Avenue and announced a holdup.
The business owner, upon seeing the fracas, drew his licensed firearm and opened fire.
There was an exchange of fire following which one of the assailants was killed on the scene.
Two employees were also shot and injured during the melee.
Investigators believe the two other bandits may have been hit by bullets after blood stains were traced to the point of their escape.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV camera and posted on social media.
