Claxton Bay man charged with murder

A Claxton Bay man is expected to appear before a Couva Magistrate charged with the murder of Jeremy Darrian Stephen which occurred on Thursday 4th January, 2018.

Alex Risbrook, 29, of Springvale, Claxton Bay, was charged with murder following advice received from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Joan Honore-Paul, on Monday 15th January, 2018.

Stephen, 23, aka “Darko”, a scrap iron dealer, of Mt. Pleasant Road, Carolina Village, Couva, was at his home on Thursday 4th January, 2018, when three men, one armed with a gun, entered and shot at him before escaping in an awaiting vehicle.

The victim was hit several times about the body and died at the scene.

Investigations were led by Insp. Darryl Coorie and W/Sgt. Susan John of Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region 3, while Risbrook, was charged by PC Jason Bernard, on Monday.
