The Environmental Management Authority (EMA) has initiated an investigation into reports of unbearable odours coming from Angostura Limited.
This follows a protest by residents of Beetham today at the Angostura compound.
The EMA says it was notified of the concerns of the protesting residents related to the odours, said to be emanating from the drainage system in the vicinity of Angostura Ltd.’s facilities.
The EMA says it is in contact with Angostura Ltd. and has dispatched a team to visit the areas where the odours have been reported to determine the source of the environmental concern and whether any immediate remedial actions are required.
The EMA says it will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide any relevant updates as they become available.
