Commissioner of police Gary Griffith has been flooded with messages after launching a direct line for citizens to report criminal activity.
The commissioner announced a direct and confidential line of communication yesterday.
The number is 482-Gary, that's 482-4279.
Well, Mr Griffith told cnc3 that he received hundreds of messages within the first few hours of the number's publication.
He's assuring that he will address each message personally.
In a statement yesterday, the police service said the initiative is aimed at building public trust and confidence in the TTPS.
The commissioner is requesting information on any pending serious criminal act and information on the perpetrators of serious crime that has already taken place.
He says it is an interim measure until a long-term system is developed.
