The host of the Crime Watch programme, Ian Alleyne, has issued a video response to the termination of his show on CNC3, calling for "peace" and asking followers to continue to support his former employer, Guardian Media Limited.

Alleyne posted a video lasting 12 minutes and 20 seconds to his Facebook page around 12.30 Friday morning telling supporters not to be bitter after CNC3 announced on Thursday that his weekday 6pm programme had been terminated.

He denies claims that he was muzzled by someone within the station.

Alleyne, who had been with CNC3 since 2013, expressed appreciation for all that he felt the station has done for him over the last three years and eight months.

He told supporters there was no need to carrying out a march he had planned for 2pm on Friday at the Guardian Building on St Vincent Street.

Alleyne said he will find a way to continue his work by other means.
