Labourer in court for shooting at ex-wife and children

Marvin Williams, a 36-year-old labourer of Jim Street, Esperance Village in south Trinidad appeared before Magistrate Kerry-Ann Byer, in the San Fernando 4th Magistrates’ Court today charged with shooting with intent against his common-law wife.

Mr Williams was also charged with possession of ammunition and possession of ammunition to endanger life.

He was granted bail in the sum of $175,000 to be approved by a Clerk of the Peace and the matter adjourned to September 3rd 2018. 

According to police reports the 36-year-old victim was dropping off her children at their Esperance Village home, on June, 24th 2018, when a man known to her approached the vehicle armed with a gun.

The assailant fired several shots in her direction, damaging the vehicle’s windscreen and bonnet.

Fearful for her life, the victim drove off and escaped. 

Williams was arrested on August 3rd, 2018, and charged on August 6th 2018, by Sgt. Dale Ramroop, of the Princes Town CID.
