The woman charged with wasting police time after claiming she was kidnapped, has pleaded 'not guilty' to the charge.

Reshma Maharaj, 30, appeared before magistrate Gloria Jasmath in the San Fernando Fourth Court this morning.

She has been charged with the wasteful employment of the police by knowingly making a false report to constable Trevor Rampersad tending to show that she was kidnapped by three men.

Her bail has now been increased from $15,000 set by a Justice of the Peace to $20,000.

The matter was adjourned to next week Tuesday.
