Tributes continue to pour in over the passing of the Chairman Emeritus of the ANSA McAL Group of Companies, Dr Anthony Norman Sabga.

Minister of Rural Development and Local Government Kazim Hosein issued the following statement:

"My heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of Dr. Anthony Norman Sabga O.R.T.T. He was a role model for many generations, a paragon in our community, a true leader, and a trailblazer in shaping the entrepreneurial landscape of Trinidad and Tobago.

Dr. Sabga will be remembered for his immense contributions to our country, his vision, humility and his strong spirit of volunteerism. We are truly grateful for his work with the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government, especially during the National Clean-Up Campaign, in which his company donated glass recycling bins to each municipality.

In this time of loss, may the light of Almighty God shine down on his family and loved ones and provide them comfort. He will be sadly missed by all. May his soul be at peace."

Meanwhile Opposition Oropouche East MP Dr. Roodal Moonilal issued the following statement:

Trinidad and Tobago and the region have lost one of its distinguished and respected citizens with the passing of Dr. Anthony Norman Sabga.

Dr. Sabga was quite possibly the most astute, industrious and committed entrepreneurs of recent decades, successfully launching a large diversified portfolio of private sector companies.

He led these organisations with passion and dynamism, created opportunities for thousands and inspired a generation of business investors.

Dr. Sabga matched his commercial acumen with a personality of warmth, generosity and sincerity of purpose.

He was also deeply patriotic, with an abiding interest in and dedication to the welfare and development of Trinidad and Tobago.

He lived a lived most worthy of emulation. His death is a huge loss to the Caribbean.

I extend condolences to his family, colleagues and employees."
