Communications company bmobile has joined forces with NIHERST to host Trinidad and Tobago’s first ever Carnival Science Week; a six-day educational event that explores the relationship between science and Carnival.
The event, which is open to the public, will take place at the NIHERST National Science Centre Headquarters in D’Abadie from February 18 to 23.
Carnival Science Week will showcase the impact of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) on our country’s most renowned cultural festival, with activities, workshops and seminars for children and adults.
The aim is to promote and advance citizens’ knowledge and understanding of science, technology and innovation so that they are informed about scientific issues and can apply new developments in science and technology to their daily lives.
One of the key events during Carnival Science Week is the Career Day for Secondary School students.
This session is intended to inspire students to consider careers in Science, Technology,
Engineering and Math (STEM), develop the students’ skills in creativity, critical thinking and problem solving and support teachers in their efforts to inspire students to pursue STEM subjects.
With over 15 sessions to enjoy, visitors are being promised a memorable experience at this year’s Carnival Science Week.
