Nine Venezuelan nationals were arrested and two revolvers, a pistol and a quantity of assorted ammunition seized, by officers of the South Western Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise in the district, yesterday.
Police said in a statement that the exercise, coordinated by Supt. Robert Phillip and including officers of the Penal CID, was conducted around 2:15pm, on Thursday 22nd February, 2018, during which the officers proceeded to a house located at St. James Crescent, La Romaine.
A search of the house resulted in one Walther pistol, outfitted with a magazine containing eight rounds of .40mm ammunition, one Ruger revolver, loaded with three rounds of .38mm ammunition, one Rossi revolver, loaded with four rounds of .38mm ammunition, one extended magazine, 266 rounds of 9mm ammunition and six rounds of .40mm ammunition, being discovered.
The nine male Venezuelan nationals, ranging in age from 21-years-old to 46-years-old, who were found in the house at the time of the exercise, were arrested in connection with the finds.
