Nurses attached to the Regional Health Authorities have kept good on their promise to take a "rest day" if they did not receive their back pay in their bank accounts by yesterday evening.
CNC3 News understands that several hospitals across the country are currently operating with an unusually low number of nurses.
We have also received complaints from persons who say that those who have shown up are operating at a slow pace.
And nurses aren't the only ones taking action.
We understand that all other monthly paid workers attached to the RHA's are taking action along with attendants, ward maids and clerical staff.
When contacted, Vice President of the T&T registered nurses association Kern Ramnath said he received information that nurses did not receive the monies owed to them as was promised by Finance Minister Colm Imbert.
