Parking meters soon for POS, San Fernando

Minister of Works and Transport Rohan Sinanan has announced that the government will be pursuing the installation of parking meters in Port-of-Spain and San Fernando soon.

The Minister told today's post-Cabinet news conference that expressions of interest will soon be issued to contractors who wish to bid for the project, which he says will also be extended to other parts of Trinidad and Tobago.

A parking meter is a device used to collect money in exchange for the right to park a vehicle in a particular place for a limited amount of time.

They are often used by municipalities as a tool for enforcing their integrated on-street parking policy, usually related to their traffic and mobility management policies, but are also used for revenue.
