Police seize $360,000 in marijuana during Moruga exercise

A quantity of marijuana was seized by officers of the South Western Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise in Moruga, yesterday.

Officers conducted the exercise around 5:30 pm on Monday 28th August, 2017, during which they had cause to search a house at Edwards Trace, Moruga.

Upon arrival at the house, a male occupant fled the premises and ran off into some nearby bushes.

A search of the building resulted in the discovery of a black plastic bag containing 3.6 kilogrammes of marijuana, which has an estimated street value of $360,000.

A warrant is expected to be issued for the arrest of the suspect for the possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
