More bad news for prison escapee Vicky Boodram as the state is expected to begin its fraud case against her and her ex-husband in a few months.

Boodram and Ravi Arjoonsingh were held on 109 fraud charges after they allegedly collected money for cruises which never happened.

The state's readiness to begin in this matter was indicated today when Boodram made her first appearance in the San Fernando court after her escape last November.

State attorney Elaine Greene told the magistrate the state was ready to proceed via paper committal.

She indicated she would prefer to commence these matters after dealing with other unrelated matters against Boodram in the Port-of-Spain Magistrates Court.

Greene said the state was also ready to proceed on the money laundering and larceny charges against Boodram. The fraud case is expected to begin on April 14th.
