Three arrested with shotgun, ammunition and weed

Three men were arrested and a shotgun and quantities of ammunition and marijuana seized by officers of the Northern Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise, conducted in the Arima district early this morning.

The exercise, coordinated by ACP (Ag.), McDonald Jacob, spearheaded by Snr. Supt. (Ag.), Michael Daniel and including officers of the St. Joseph CID, was conducted between 12:01 am and 3 am, on Thursday 5th April, 2018.

During the exercise, the officers proceeded to a forested area at Noriega Trace, By-pass Road, Arima, where they found three male suspects sitting in a make-shift tent.

A search of the tent resulted in one sawed off shotgun, three rounds of 12 gauge cartridges and 10 grammes of marijuana being discovered.

The three male suspects; a 57-year-old of Arima, a 28-year-old of Tobago and a 22-year-old of Maraval, were arrested in connection with the finds.
