Tribe ICE, Soca in Moka kick off Carnival 2016

As far as fetes go, Carnival never really starts until Tribe ICE takes place.

The short 2016 season kicked off on Saturday night at the Jean Pierre Complex with the trademark start-of-Carnival fete and if there was any question about a recession cutting into the party lifestyle, it was put to rest as thousands rammed into the complex for DJ music and live performances which included Kes the Band, Shal Marshall and Peter Ram.

And then there is the next official start to the Carnival fete season, the trademark first all-inclusive for the year, Soca in Moka, which took place on Sunday evening at Trinity College in Moka.

Among the performances were Bunji Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons-Alvarez, Lil Bitts, Olatunji and Benjai.

We captured some of the both fetes in the video below.
