A teacher from Trinidad and Tobago has been found guilty of the indecent assault of a 15-year-old female student at a school in St Kitts.
The incident occured at the Washington Archibald High School in March 2014.
Hilton Bonaparte, a native of Trinidad who lives with his family at New Road, St Kitts, was a Principles of Business teacher at the school before he was placed on suspension after being charged with the crime.
According to the details of the case, in March 2014, Bonaparte picked up the teen from her home one night and drove her to Frigate Bay, claiming he wanted to talk to her.
After the encounter the teen complained to her sister that Bonaparte had inappropriately touched her and the matter eventually wound up in the hands of the police.
The jury’s verdict was unanimous.
Bonaparte will be sentenced on February 22. He remains out on bail until the sentencing hearing.
