Two couples charged with sacrilege of Hindu temple

Two couples have been charged with breaking into and stealing from a Hindu temple. 

Jason Baliram and common-law wife Veronica Mohammed, and Nicholas Hosein and his common-law wife Latchmi Mahadeo were charged indictably with sacrilege.

The alleged crime is said to have occurred between June 15th and 21st, 2017 at the Shiv Mandir Divine Life Society at Diamond Village San Fernando. 

They're accused of breaking in the temple and stealing 5 speakers, 5 speaker stands, 2 fans, a box containing $3000 cash and all property of the devotees of the temple.

They appeared before San Fernando Magistrate Cherril-Anne Antoine today.

The matter was adjourned to August 28th.
