Two men are arrested by officers of the St. Joseph Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and St. Joseph Crime Patrol Unit, within minutes of robbing a bar owner and three male bar patrons of quantities of cash and cellular phones, in the Curepe district.
According to police reports the 30-year-old bar owner, along with three men; a 37-year-old and a 43- year old, both of St. Joseph and a 39-year-old of St. Augustine, were at the bar located at Curepe Junction, around 1:55 pm, on August 20th when four men entered and announced a robbery.
The men proceeded to rob the proprietor of a quantity of cash, while the other victims were relieved of their cellular phones and other valuables. The victims were then beaten about their bodies before the assailants ran off.
A report was made to police and officers of the St. Joseph CID and Crime Patrol Unit who were on patrol in the district at the time, immediately responded.
The officers were able to apprehend two of the suspects a short distance away, five minutes after the report was made.
One suspect was arrested by officers of the St. Joseph CID, along Coryat Street, Curepe, while the other was held by officers of the Crime Patrol Unit, along Phillip Street, Curepe.
A quantity of the stolen items and cash were recovered from the possession of the suspects.
