Police are now investigating the shooting of two people in a car in Cocorite.

The occupants appear to have been shot by stray bullets.

A report circulating on social media indicates that there was a shootout between rival gangs in Cocorite, when stray bullets made their way down to the highway.

However, police are yet to verify the claims made in the online voice note.

A driving instructor and a passenger were both hit in their heads.

They have been rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.

Investigations are continuing.
