The unemployment rate in this country has increased yet again.
The latest data from the Central Statistical Office (CSO) indicates that the unemployment rate increased from 3.8 percent in the first quarter of 2016 to 4.4 percent in the second quarter.
A year ago the rate was the same 4.4 percent for the second quarter of 2015.
The CSO says the number of unemployed males increased from 3.7 percent to 4 percent.
While unemployed females went up from 4 to 5 percent for the second quarter of 2016.
The CSO report indicates that more people lost their jobs in the wholesale and retail trade and in restaurants and hotels.
While there were increases in manufacturing, transport, storage and communication areas.
