A Valencia man was arrested and a revolver and a quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the Northern Division during an anti-crime exercise in the Arima district yesterday.
Officers conducted the exercise around 8:10 am on Thursday 21st December, 2017, during which they proceeded to Prince Street, Arima, where they observed a man with a knapsack on his back, standing along the roadway.
The officers approached the man and conducted a search of the knapsack, which resulted in one revolver and five rounds of ammunition being found inside.
During the search, the suspect attempted to escape but was held following a brief chase.
The suspect, a 20-year-old, porter of K.P. Lands, Valencia, was arrested in connection with the find.
