Dwayne Bravo hit five sixes in one over, creating CPL history, as the Trinbago Knight Riders romped to a 46-run victory over the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on Saturday night at Warner Park. Bravo's blitz came in the 19th over off young West Indies fast-bowler Alzarri Joseph.
It helped TKR get to 199/4 from its 20 overs with Bravo ending unbeaten on 37 runs from just 11 balls. However, it was the ever-consistent Colin Munro that kept the innings together, hitting 76 not out.
The Patriots hardly mounted a fightback. They lost Chris Gayle early and while Evin Lewis showed some signs of form in his 52, the home side needed much more than that cameo to even sniff victory.
They struggled to 153/8 before time ran out. The victory takes TKR to the top of the CPL table on 10 points, but the Guyana Amazon Warriors in second, and the Jamaica Tallawahs in third, both also have 10 points.
TKR now returns home to face the Amazon Warriors on Wednesday at the Queen's Park Oval from 8pm.
