An AK-47 assault rifle and a quantity of ammunition were discovered by officers of the Central Division during an anti-crime exercise in the Enterprise district yesterday, police said in a statement issued Friday.
It is the second such weapon seized by police in the past week.

An assault rifle was discovered by officers of the Couva Police Station, during an anti-crime exercise, in the Couva district, over the weekend.
Officers conducted the exercise, between 12:00pm and 4:00pm, on Saturday 18th November, 2017.
The Police Service is reporting on a shooting incident outside of the home of a police officer but does not say whether the officer was the target.
A statement from the Police Service says that officer later found several spent shells on the street outside his home.
