Cunupia man held with pistol and ammo at home

One man was arrested and a pistol and a quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the Cunupia Police Station, during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the district last night.

During the exercise, on Monday October 14th, officers executed a search warrant at the Raghunanan Road, Cunupia home of a 32-year-old man.

The search resulted in officers finding one black and chrome Beretta pistol, two magazines and 23 rounds of ammunition in the house.

The suspect, who was in the house at the time of the exercise, was arrested in connection with the find.

Police find shotgun inside fig patch

One shotgun was discovered by officers of the South Western Division, during an anti-crime exercise, in Chatham Village, Point Fortin, yesterday.

According to the TTPS, acting on information, officers of the Point Fortin Police Station went to a bushy area along Food Crop Road No. 2, Chatham Village, around 7:30 am on May, 10th 2018.

There, they conducted a search inside a fig patch and discovered one Conavenca 12 gauge shotgun with the markings ‘Hecho en Venezuela’, hidden in a white plastic bag.

No arrest was made in connection with the find.
