State-owned oil company Petrotrin will be taking possession of the Catshill field by noon today.
The move comes a day after a and v oil and gas was defeated in the privy council. It meant a and v was unable to prevent Petrotrin from terminating its multi-million dollar contract with them.
The Catshill field was previously operated by A&V Oil and Gas.
Petrotrin has been given the all clear to terminate its contractual arrangements with A&V oil and gas.
This after the privy council refused to grant A&V oil permission to appeal a ruling of the local court of appeal,
The Media Association is calling on the managers of A&V Oil and Gas Limited to take responsibility for the attacks on media personnel and to fund the replacement of their equipment.
MATT is also calling on the police to continue their investigation into the attacks, despite the apology issued by the group.
MATT issued the following statement today.
"The last few days have been extremely difficult for the media fraternity in Trinidad and Tobago as media workers come to terms with the harassment of and attacks against some of our colleagues.
