Soca Monarch hattrick for 'Voice'

Aaron St Louis, 'The Voice' has done it again, wining the 2018 Soca Monarch competition, making it a hattrick of victories in the competition.

Voice, performing in position number 11 with "Year of Love" was once again the judges favourite, following on victories with "Cheers to Life" in 2016 and "Far From Finish" in 2017.

Dexter "Blaxx" Stewart placed 2nd with "Hulk", while Orlando Octave was adjudged 3rd with "Love you so".

Trevor Turner was fourth with "Champions".

DOMA: Many unanswered questions about threat to disrupt Carnival

The Downtown Owners and Merchants Association (DOMA) says the populations has been left in unease and vagueness following a statement by the police about a threat to disrupt Carnival.

DOMA issued a statement Friday saying that several questions have been left unanswered by the police.

Golden Hands plays 'Trouble' to win Panorama Small Bands category

It was “Trouble” literally when the results of the National Panorama Small Band Finals were announced last night Thursday at Skinner Park, San Fernando just after 11:30 pm

When the dust cleared, Golden Hands led by Franka Hills-Headley with a Vanessa Alexander Headley arrangement of her composition “Trouble Sans Humanite” emerged victorious with the top score of 279 points.

Finishing behind the San Fernando based band was Laventille Serenaders with 278 points for their performance of Winston Bailey’s “Dingolay” arranged by Arddin Herbert.

British nationals warned of possible terrorist attack during Carnival celebrations

 British nationals are being advised to remain vigilant and avoid large crowds and gatherings in light of the recent threat of terrorist attacks during this year's carnival celebrations.

Defending Calypso Monarch "Chalkdust" to sing in 9th position

Carlos James 'Skate' will perform first come Sunday night for the Calypso Monarch crown.

Dexter Parsons the stinger is in second position,

Michael Osouna ‘Sugar Aloes’ third position.

Kurt Allen ‘The last Bad John of Calypso’ is in fourth position

Alana Sinnette Khan ‘Lady Watchman’ will be the fifth position followed by the reigning Soca Monarch Aaron St Louis, ‘The Voice’.

He will make way for Singing Sandra, followed by Michael Legerton ‘Protector’ in 8th position.

The defending monarch Hollis Liverpool ‘Chalkdust’ is in ninth position.
