T&T energy pioneer Anthony Beaubrun has died

Anthony Beaubrun, one of the pioneers of Trinidad and Tobago energy sector, has died.

His family reports that he died at the Port of Spain General Hospital, days before his 83rd birthday on June 26th. 

Mourning his passing are his immediate family, wife Patricia Beaubrun, daughter Giselle Beaubrun, son Dominic Beaubrun and grandsons Robert Yeates and Jean Beaubrun.

Nobel Laureate and prominent poet Derek Walcott has died

Poet, playwright and Nobel Laureate Sir Derek Walcott, as died.

Walcott passed away at his home in Cap Estate, north St Lucia about 7:30 a.m. today after a prolonged illness. He was 87.

Family members confirmed his death to St Lucian journalists this morning.

Ernie Seon, a St Lucian journalist who works with the Caribbean Media Corporation, told CNC3 that Walcott had been suffering with kidney problems and had been on a dialysis machine for some time now.

Calypso King of "Progress" has died

Calypsonian Austin "King Austin" Lewis has died.

He is known for one of the most popular philosophical songs written by a local calypsonian, "Progress" with a line that ends, "no one can deny, that the price of progress is high".

73-year-old Austin died Saturday morning at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.

He had been suffering from the Alzheimer's disease for the last six years and recently took a turn for the worse, a family member said.

Teen who was hit by car at Pro Bar has died

The 19-year-old man who was knocked down outside Pro Bar in Malabar, Arima, has died.

Ezekiel Burton passed away just before 2pm today at the Mount Hope hospital.

He had suffered internal injuries and before passing, a close family friend said  he was completely brain dead.

The accident, in which he was tossed several feet away, was captured on a security camera and has been shared online.

PC Benjamin has died

PC Anson Benjamin, who was shot while responding to a robbery in St Clements, has died at hospital.

PC Benjamin passed away at 11.15 this morning at the San Fernando General Hospital, where he was in a medically-induced coma at the Intensive Care Unit.

No.14862 PC Anson Benjamin, 45, of Stewart Street, Pleasantville, had 16 years of dedicated service and was a father of five children.
