Two arrested as police find 25 crocus bags of compressed marijuana

Two men suspected of transporting thousands of dollars' worth of marijuana out of Erin were arrested this morning.

The two suspects, both aged 35, of Oropouche and Port of Spain, were detained in the vehicle which allegedly contained the narcotics.

At around 7.30 a.m. officers of the Santa Flora and Erin CIDs received information and intercepted the vehicle at SS Erin Road.

During a search they allegedly found 25 crocus bags filled with the compressed marijuana.

Police say the marijuana was destined to be consumed for the Carnival.

AK-47, ammunition and $.5 million in drugs seized in Vistabella

Police have seized an AK-47 weapon, ammunition, and drugs worth half a million dollars in an exercise in Vistabella.

Reports are that during the period 3 am and 8 am today an anti-crime operation coordinated by Senior Supt Mohammed and supervised by ASP Ramdeen in the San Fernando, La Romain and Marabella districts.

A search warrant was executed at 22 Wharton Street, Vistabella.

10 arrested in Central Trinidad for cocaine, marijuana possession

Ten persons were arrested and a revolver, a pistol and quantities of marijuana and cocaine seized by officers of the Central Division Task Force during an anti-crime exercise yesterday, police said in a statement.

The exercise, coordinated by Snr. Supt. Kenny McIntyre, supervised by Sgt. (Ag.) Ken Ali and including officers of the Couva CID and Canine Unit, was conducted between 2 pm and 10 pm on Monday.

Officers proceeded to an open area off Rivulet Road, Couva, where they discovered one Taurus revolver and one pistol outfitted with a magazine.

Retired police officer among two charged with possession of weapons, drugs & ammunition

A retired police officer is among two men expected to appear before a Couva Magistrate today to answer charges of being in possession of arms, ammunition and a quantity of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

On Monday, a police exercise conducted in the Couva area resulted in the seizure of two firearms, a quantity of marijuana and cocaine at a house.

Five held transporting ammo, marijuana in Santa Flora

Five men were arrested and quantities of ammunition and marijuana seized, by officers of the Santa Flora Police Station during an anti-crime exercise in the district on Tuesday 9th January, 2018.

The exercise, coordinated by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Neville Adams and supervised by Sgt. Sheldon Ablacksingh, took place around between 6 pm and 10 pm, during which officers intercepted two motor vehicles; a white Nissan Tiida with one male occupant and a silver Toyota Axio with four male occupants, along the SS Erin Road.

Santa Cruz man charged with possession of $30,000 in marijuana

One man was arrested and a quantity of marijuana seized by officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force Strike Team, during an anti-crime exercise, in the Santa Cruz district, police said in a statement.

Officers conducted the exercise between 6:30 pm and 10 pm on Friday 5th January, 2018, during which they executed a search warrant for arms and ammunition at the Santa Cruz home of a 28-year-old man.

Nothing illegal was found inside the man’s house, however, a search of his silver Toyota Corolla motor vehicle resulted in three kilogrammes of marijuana being discovered.

Police seize 5.5 kilos of weed on Duncan Street

A quantity of marijuana was discovered by officers of the Duncan Street Police Post, during an anti-crime exercise in the district, last night, police said in a statement.

Officers conducted the exercise around 8:00pm, on Tuesday 2nd January, 2018, during which they proceeded to Building 4-8, Prince Street, Port of Spain, where a search was carried out on the rooftop of the structure.

The search resulted in a white crocus bag containing 5.5 kilogrammes of marijuana being discovered.

The drug has an estimated street value of $55,000.

Suriname national appears in court charged with possession of drugs

Bernadette Astrid Silvana Van Zichem, 36, a Surinamese national appeared in an Arima Magistrate Court today charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
