There will be no decision in the case brought against the Law Association by the Chief Justice today.
This as the Privy Council stated a short while ago that it will reserve its decision to a later date.
In the matter the CJ’s attorney have asked the Law Lords to assess
1> Whether section 137 of the Constitution provides the sole basis for investigating the conduct of the Chief Justice and removing him from office;
The Law Association is joining the Trinidad and Tobago Coalition Against Domestic Violence in its call for a full investigation into the police service’s handling of the complaint of domestic violence made by Abigail Chapman less than a week before she was murdered.
In a statement issued today, the Law Association says it is not difficult to conclude that had an arrest been made promptly, and charges laid, the tragedy which unfolded within days may have been avoided.
The Law Association has today indicated its intention to challenge the decision of High Court judge Nadia Kangaloo who on Tuesday ruled the association was acting illegally in investigating allegations of misconduct against Chief Justice Ivor Archie.
Today, attorneys representing the association filed documents at the Court of Appeal seeking to strike down that judgment.

High Court judge Justice Nadia Kangaloo ruled that the proceedings be quashed, saying the law body was acting "illegally" & outside of the Constitution.
The judge ruled that the Law Association was attempting in its potential, to send the matter to the prime minister to change his mind, after he has made his position clear.
Chief justice Ivor Archie’s legal showdown with the law association of T&T, over its decision to investigate allegations of misconduct levelled against him, is set for Friday.
Archie’s lawyers kicked off the proceedings yesterday after they filed a judicial review lawsuit challenging the LATT’s decision and an application seeking an injunction barring it from continuing its investigation.
