30 to undergo medical examinations after asbestos found at President's House

Over 30 members of staff will be sent for medical examination today after the highly toxic asbestos material, a known cause of mesothelioma cancer, was discovered at President’s House.

15 Syrian refugees to be medically tested in T&T before US asylum

Fifteen (15) Syrian men seeking asylum in the United States, will be flown to Trinidad and Tobago for medial examinations before being allowed to travel to the US.

An article in the Antogua Observer says that the 15 men who were declared genuine refugees in Antigua, last year, are to be resettled in the United States, possibly by June this year.

The article states that the men were recently interviewed by US officials as the United Nations High Commission on Refugees (UNHCR) continues efforts to bring closure to the matter that has been ongoing since last June.
