Santa Cruz woman reported missing

Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating 29-year-old Renee Lizane Tavernier who has been reported missing.

Tavernier, of Sun Valley Extension, Santa Cruz, was last seen driving away from her home in a black Nissan Almera on Saturday 6th July 2019.

She was reported missing to the police on the following date.

Tavernier is of African descent, 5 feet 2 inches tall, stockily built, with a dark brown complexion, teardrop tattoos on her face, and star tattoos on her left hand.

Children's Authority: Child care is everybody's business

The Children's Authority is reminding adults of the responsibility they have the care of children, in light of the deaths of three children this week.
 
The authority says it is saddened by the recent deaths this week, which have highlighted the need for greater vigilance regarding the care and protection of all children.
 
"Parents and guardians are once again reminded to ensure that they put measures in place for their children whether at camps, family outings or at home," the authority said in a statement issued on Friday.
 

Heavy showers, thunderstorm warning from 4am Friday

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has issued Adverse Weather Alert #1– Yellow Level for the period Friday 05th July, 2019 at 4 am to 2 pm for Trinidad and Tobago.

The TTMS has advised that showers and thunderstorms are likely to affect Trinidad and Tobago from early morning till early afternoon.

Street/flash flooding, landslides/landslips and gusty winds of in excess of 45km/hr are possible.

North Coast road reopened

The North Coast Road has been reopened.

Earlier today, the Works and Transport Ministry advised that it had temporarily closed the North Coast Road to all citizens, including residents as a result of a fallen tree due to overnight rain.

A technical team of Ministry officials went to the site and emergency crews worked to have one lane of traffic open to the public.

That has since been accomplished.

The Ministry says it will provide an update on the progress of works throughout the day.   

Water disruption in San Juan, Laventille tomorrow

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers served by the Valsayn B Booster Station that there will be an interruption in their pipe-borne water supply on Thursday 4th July 2019, between the hours of 2 am and 8 pm.

WASA says this has become necessary to facilitate emergency repairs to a leaking 16-inch diameter pipeline at the corner of Streatham Lodge Road and the Churchill Roosevelt Highway.

WASA working on Diego highway leak

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers and motorists of a leaking 21-inch diameter main on the north bound carriageway of Diego Martin Highway, Crystal Stream, Diego Martin.

WASA says it is currently engaged in mobilising crews and equipment to execute the emergency repair works, which is expected to be completed by 10pm Tuesday.

Motorists are advised to proceed with caution and obey the instructions of the police officers on duty in the vicinity of the job site.

San Fernando woman missing

The TTPS is seeking the urgent assistance of the public in locating 18-year-old Aaisha Khan.

Aaisha, of Bronte Village, San Fernando, was last seen at her home on June 29th.

She was reported missing to the police on the following date.

Aaisha is of East Indian descent, 5 feet 6 inches tall, medium built, with a brown complexion.

She was last seen wearing a black and white dress and a hijab.

Disruption in water supply in North East Trinidad

The Water and Sewerage Authority advises customers in parts of North East Trinidad, served by the North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant that there will be an interruption in their pipe borne water supply, between the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 12.00 midnight on Thursday 27th June, 2019.

This has become necessary to facilitate emergency repair works to a leak on the 42-inch diameter transmission pipeline along Tattoo Trace, Valencia.

Areas to be affected include:

· Sangre Grande (Town)

· Sangre Chiquito

· Manzanilla

· Coalmine

Water disruption in parts of El Dorado, Tacarigua on Monday

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers served by the Caura Water Treatment Plant that there will be an interruption in their water supply on Monday, between the hours of 8 am and 6 pm.

WASA says this has become necessary in order to facilitate repairs to leaks on the 12-inch diameter main at the corner of Karamath and Persad Street, El Dorado.
