A Hindu pundit who bought a brand new Audi Q-7 SUV for over $670,000 from a car company two years ago, is seeking to get his money back.
In a pre-action protocol letter sent by his attorney Prem Persad Maharaj, Ramakrishna Persad of Waterloo Road, Perseverance Village Couva challenged Southern Sales and Service Company to refund him in full saying the vehicle sold to him was defective.
The purchase was made in July 2016, but it was on September 15 that same year he got finally possession of the SUV.
Persad said the vehicle is now parked up because of the defects.
A pundit made a public plea yesterday urging villagers to help the police find the killers of farmer Dipchand Heeralal and Radha Baldeo.
Pundit Roopnarine Maharaj told mourners at Heeralal’s funeral that the double murder brought back memories of Dole Chadee’s quadruple killing 24 years ago in the quiet village of Williamsville.
Maharaj said justice had been served to Chadee and his clan after they killed Deo Baboolal, his wife, Rookmin, and their children, Hamilton and Monica but he questioned whether the killers of Heeralal and Baldeo would ever be found.
The 60-year-old mother-in-law of pundit Sunil Ragbirsingh has been charged with his murder.
The pundit was killed during an apparent robbery at his Arouca home on November 25th.
His mother in law Kumarie Maraj and his 22-year-old worker Salim Goberdhan have both been charged with the murder.
