Longtime sports car racing team owner and automotive dealer Dave Maraj has died.
Maraj, the founder of Champion Motors and the 24 Hours of Le Mans-winning Champion Racing operation, died late Saturday in a boating accident in Florida.
Maraj, 65 hailed from Trinidad and Tobago and became a hugely successful businessman in roadgoing sportscar sales, in particular through the Champion Motors dealerships.
The company opened a motorsport arm in the mid 1990s and after fairly modest beginnings went on to huge success first with Porsche, and later with Audi.
A team of the country's top junior triathletes left today to compete in the CAMTRI Triathlon American Youth Olympic Games Qualifier in Salinas, Ecuador (June 30-July 1, 2018)
The team is being accompanied by coach Derrick Simon.
