A Laventille man has been remanded to the St. Ann’s Psychiatric Hospital for evaluation and a report, after appearing before a Port-of-Spain magistrate yesterday, charged with sexual penetration and sexual touching of a 13-year-old girl.
The crimes are alleged to have occurred on Monday 18th June, 2018, in the St. Clair district.
Evans Julien, a PH taxi driver, of Picton Road, appeared before Magistrate Adia Mohammed, in the Port of Spain Magistrates’ 7th Court, on Thursday 21st June, 2018, to answer to the charges.
Accused fraudster Vicky Boodram is to spend more time at the St Ann's Mental Hospital, two weeks after being sent there by the Court.
The Hospital has asked for more time to conduct a mental evaluation on Boodram.
Boodram's attorney had asked the Court two weeks ago, for her to be sent for evaluation and senior magistrate Nannette Forde-John agreed to a 14-day evaluation period.
Business woman Vicky Boodram, who is currently before the court answering several charges of fraud, has been ordered to spend the next two weeks undergoing psychiatric evaluation at the St Ann’s Hospital.
Senior Magistrate Nannette Forde-John made the decision following a request from defence attorney Jason Jackson.
He told the court that he made certain observations that prompted him to make the request for her to be sent for evaluation.
The police have issued another statement with regards to the escape of inmates at the St Ann's Hospital this morning, as they appeal for the public's help in finding Sheldon Thomas who remains at large.
