DPP orders inquest into death of St. Joseph man

The Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard, has ordered an inquest into the stabbing death of 22-year-old Kareem Briggs, which occurred on August 23rd in St. Joseph.

According to police reports, Briggs,  of Railway Road, St. Joseph, is reported to have gotten into a heated argument with two men on August 23rd.

 During the altercation, the victim suffered stab wounds about the body and died at the scene. 

An 18-year-old man of Farm Road, St. Joseph, who was detained in relation to the killing, has since been released pending the outcome of the inquest.

Man Charged for Stabbing POS woman to death

31-year-old Stanley Peter Edmond Gittens of Beetham Gardens is expected to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate today, charged with the murder of Tyesha De Souza.
This is following advice received from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on Friday 3rd August
 Ms De Souza was killed on Sunday 29th July 2018 she was from Troumacaque Road, Laventille.

San Francique man stabbed to death; male relative in custody

One man is dead and a male relative is in police custody following a family dispute.

Reports indicate that Ricky Harrypersad and a close male relative were involved in a fight at their San Francique home, when the relative allegedly stabbed Harrypersad in the neck.

Harrypersad later died at hospital.

Reports indicate that the suspect gave himself up at the Penal Police Station this morning.

 

Soldier arrested for robbing, stabbing Chaguanas man

A member of the T&T Defense Force was arrested on Saturday morning for robbing and stabbing a Chaguanas man.

Police say the victim, a 24-year-old man of Mamoral Number 2 was in the vicinity of Champs Bar at Railway Road, Chaguanas when around 2.50 am a soldier attached to Camp Ogden, St James attacked the victim with a broken beer bottle stabbing him several times about his face and his right hand.

The soldier then proceeded to rob the victim of a cell phone and $460 in cash.

SRP surrenders to police; positively identified in Ariapita Avenue stabbing incident

Two police officers have been positively identified during two separate identification parades in relation to a stabbing and firearm brandishing incidents.

A Special Reserve Officer attached to the Guard and Emergency Branch and Sergeant attached to the Professional Standards Bureau were pointed out during the parades held at the Central Police Station and the La Horquetta Police Station respectively.

The SRP surrendered to officers at the Woodbrook Police Station in relation a stabbing incident along Ariapita Avenue last Friday.
