Following an notice of the cancellation of sailings due to rough seas this weekend, the Trinidad & Tobago Inter-Island Transportation Company (TTITC) now says there will be one sailing, on Sunday.
The T&T Express will sail from Port-of-Spain on Sunday 25th February at 2 pm, the statement said.
Earlier the had announced that rough sea condition had forced it to cancel sailings this weekend.
The Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (PATT) says that in the interest of public safety it has withdrawn the T&T Express from service with immediate effect.
PATT says, to accommodate the high demand at this time, arrangements have been made with Caribbean Airlines Limited (CAL), based on the availability of seats, to accommodate some of the passengers with confirmed tickets during the period 8th to 14th February.
The management of Trinidad and Tobago Inter-island Transportation Company Limited (TTIT) is advising that repairs to the T&T Express are still on-going.
A statement from the TTIT says the technicians are working assiduously to complete the repairs following which all works will be supervised and certified by DNV surveyors.
It notes that a further update will be provided by 10.00 am on Saturday 03rd February, 2018 and the travelling public will be advised on the expected resumption to service of the T&T Express.
The management of Trinidad and Tobago Inter-island Transportation Company (TTIT) is advising that repairs to the T&T Express are still on-going.
It says that some of the parts will arrive into the country today and all attempts will be made to complete the works in the shortest possible time.
A statement by the company says a further update will be provided by 10 am on Friday 02nd February, 2018 and the travelling public will be advised on the expected resumption to service of the T&T Express.
All sailings on the T&T Express for today and tomorrow have been canceled.
A release from the Port Authority says the cancellation is due to rough sea conditions and ongoing repairs to the vessel.
The Port Authority says it will inform the public of when the sailings will resume.
Meanwhile the cargo vessel, the Cabo Star will sail tomorrow from Port-of-Spain at 2 pm and from Tobago at 11 pm.
Due to ongoing repair work and the rough seas bulletin, the 6:30 am sailing from Tobago of the T&T Express for Wednesday 31st January has been cancelled.
The regular sailing schedule will resume at 12 noon from Port-of- Spain.
The Management of Trinidad and Tobago Inter-island Transportation Company Limited (TTIT) says repair works on the T&T Express have been completed and that the vessel will resume the inter-island run from POS (today) Thursday 25th January at 3.00 pm.
The normal schedule will resume on Friday 26th January from TGO at 6.30 am and from POS at 2.00 pm.
Sailings of the T&T Express from Port-of-Spain on Wednesday 24th January and from Tobago at 6.30 am on Thursday 25th January, 2018, were cancelled because of engine problems.
