Former Minister of Trade and Industry, Vasant Bharath has described the late Dr Anthony Sabga as a man of "sterling business acumen with a heart of compassion".
Bharath issued a statement on the passing of Dr Sabga. He died at 6am Wednesday morning.
"I am so very saddened at the news of the passing of business icon Dr Anthony Sabga.
Dr Sabga came to Trinidad and Tobago as a young boy with his parents and out of adversity and challenges with the early death of his father, grew to become one of this hemisphere's most successful entrepreneurs.

Bharath resigned as a senator on November 11th after declaring his intention to run for the post of political leader of the UNC, in the Internal Elections won by Kamla-Persad-Bissessar on Saturday.
Hadeed was sworn in following an announcement by Senate President Christine Kangaloo just before the Senate broke for lunch today.
