1 lb block of Paneer

1 tbsp clarified butter or regular butter or olive oil

1 tsp black mustard seeds

1/2 tsp whole geera

1 tbsp minced onion

1 tsp finely minced garlic

1 tsp finely minced ginger

1/4 tsp turmeric

1/4 to 1/2 tsp chili powder or 2 fresh chillies chopped

Salt to taste

1 tbsp fresh chopped cilantro

1 tsp fresh lime juice.



1. Cut paneer into 1 inch cubes and set aside,

2. Heat a medium sauté pan and add butter, allow it to heat without burning, add geera and mustard seeds and let them sizzle for 10 to 15 seconds.

3. Add onions to pan and allow to sauté for half a minute before adding garlic and ginger, sauté these ingredients for a minute on medium heat turning constantly.

4. At this time we can add out turmeric and chili powder( if ur using the powder) stirring constantly for about 10 seconds to keep from burning and becoming bitter, Add paneer and toss till all the pieces have been coated with all the ingredients in the pan, if using fresh chili you can add them at this time and toss with paneer.

5. Turn off the flame and add fresh cilantro and sprinkle lime juice, serve hot to your guests in small teaplates, on a platter or as a main dish.
