Fifteen people were arrested yesterday during anti-crime exercises in the Northern Division. The following is a press release from the TTPS:
Fifteen persons were arrested in the Northern and Central Divisions for State of Emergency and Covid-19 Public Health Regulations infractions yesterday. One exercise, coordinated by ACP Andy Belfon, Snr. Supt. Ramdeen and spearheaded by W/ASP Powder, Insp. Pitt and Sgt. (Ag.)
Pamphille, was conducted between 6 pm and 11 pm, on Thursday 29th July, 2021, in the Northern Division, Area Central. During the exercise, attention was paid to Maloney Gardens, Oropune Gardens, Bon Air Gardens, Windy Hill, Bon Air West, Trincity, Tacarigua, and Arouca. Four persons, ages 25 to 50 years old, from D’Abadie and Wallerfield, were arrested for breach of curfew, while a 26-year-old Arouca man, was ticketed for failure to wear a face mask.
Officers of the Guard and Emergency Branch also assisted with this operation. In a separate exercise, 11 persons were arrested for gathering in a public place exceeding five persons during a Covid-19 enforcement exercise conducted in the Central Division yesterday.
