Seventeen persons were arrested for various offences, inclusive of larceny, gang-related offences, and breach of the COVID-19 Regulations, following anti-crime exercises in the Northern Division.
Official police reports state that the exercises were conducted between the hours of 7:00 am on Wednesday 13th May and 3:00 am on Thursday 14th May 2020, by officers in the Tunapuna District.
A statement from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service reports the follow arrests, resulting from the series of anti-crime exercises:
− Six (6) persons for outstanding maintenance warrants in the Arima District;
− Seven (7) persons for Breach of COVID-19 Regulations;
− One (1) man for larceny of a quantity of premium alcohol, keys and automatic gate controls; and
− Three (3) persons for gang-related offences.
Investigations are ongoing.
